2nd Grade - These students learned that Extract means to get, pull, or draw out, usually with special effort, skill, or force. They also learned that Abraham Lincoln our sixteenth President was not a stern father.
3rd Grade - This class learned that Extinction means a coming to an end or dying out. Their investigator, John F. Kennedy, tried to compete against his older brother and failed. But Mr. Kennedy succeeded when it was necessary. Students worked as a group to complete the Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods students continued to develop their evaluative thinking skills. This week they developed criteria and used a problem solving matrix to decide what to do for 30 minutes in class. They chose to build rafts that would hold weight and float for one minute.
4th Grade - They learned that the word Precision means exactness or accuracy. Their investigators were the Corps of Discovery led by Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and Sacagawea. They worked together to solve a Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity. The afternoon was spent trying to build one of five styles of bridges from straws that would hold a book.
