4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was impersonate which means to mimic or pretend to be someone else. Benjamin Franklin, who was multi-talented, was today's ponderer. Students drew fist circles for the warm-up activity. The rest of the morning was spent finishing up the robots and writing up the directions for another school to make our robots.

Students drew circles with their fists for the warm-up activity. Making a plan on how to make decisions was the focus of the affective lesson. Students were given a noun and a verb and told to create a new invention with those two words during our trip to Crystal Pond Woods.

1st Grade - Today's ponderer was Benjamin Harrison. Mr. Harrison was the grandson of President William Henry Harrison. He was also President between Grover Cleveland's two terms in office. Students created pictures with circles for the warm-up activity. They finished comparing objects for their scientific thinking.

The ponderer was Albert Einstein who developed the nuclear bomb, but didn't want to see it used on people. A 20 Questions Mystery Object was today's warm up puzzle. Students spent 45 minutes building their Cooperative Creature. The rest of the morning was spent developing the directions to send to another Edmond school who will in turn send us instructions to build another creature.

Steven Spielberg, who was rejected from the University of California because of poor grades, was today's ponderer. Students tried to figure out the 20 questions Mystery Object for the warm up activity. Max the Magician had students visually thinking with tangram puzzles. The final activity was to listen and discuss chapter three of Call It Courage by Armstrong Sperry.

The 20 Questions Mystery Object was today's warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on researching issues for yourself. The rest of the afternoon was spent finishing essays for the Exploravision contest. Next week we will finish our entries by developing web pages for our new invention.

Students had to identify seven close up objects by looking at a picture and reading a clue about the item for the warm up activity. We discussed occupations and how matching careers with learning styles is important. In Crystal Pond Woods, we finished our creative writing prompts from a couple of weeks ago.

The ponderer was Thomas Alva Edison who took out 1,093 patents during his lifetime.Students figured out the items in the What In the World puzzle for the warm-up activity. Brochures for the planet Velzar were completed followed by creating a "See, Run, Do" poster. While developing that poster, students learned the importance of asking the right questions and making sure they are interpreting directions correctly. Then we began making our cooperative creatures.

By learning to read he was able to assist many more slaves obtain freedom. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. The affective lesson was a self evaluation of the past several weeks' discussions. Students then completed their drawings of the Munracks and created brochures for the planet Velzar.

The ponderer was Michael Jordan who did not make his high school varsity team as a sophomore. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, Isabel the Inventor and Yolanda the Yarnspinner challenged students to take three sheets of construction paper and 36 inches of tape and put them together to build a structure that would hold the most encyclopedias of the class.
