Welcome Back! I hope everyone had an enjoyable break. Here are the things we learned in Enrichment today.
1st Grade - Students started the morning by learning that Calamity Jane should have been named Lucky Jane because did a lot to help tame the wild west. The warm up activity was a Quotation Quizzler. Since the students were new at this activity, it took up a great deal of time but they learned a good deal. We started learning about Venn diagrams in Crystal Pond Woods, but will have to finish the lesson next week.
2nd Grade - These students learned that Ability means the power or skill to do something. Their explorer was Emily Geiger. Emily's family were Patriots during the Revolutionary War. She was to deliver a message to General Sumter in the North. When British soldiers stopped her, she quickly read the message, swallowed it and when allowed to continue she delivered the message word for word. A Quotation Quizzler was the warm up activity. The focus of the affective lesson was responsibility, respect and self discipline.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
