5th Grade - These students learned that Pernicious means dangerous, deadly. Their thinker, Anton Leeuwenhoek, is credited with the invention of the microscope even though he didn't share his idea with anyone. Students drew loopy drawings for the warm up activity. The leadership lesson focused on different forms of communication and there are people who can naturally take a leadership role in a situation. The final lesson centered around the idea that by analyzing structures we may be able to understand our world better. After looking at the ways Edmond has changed over the past 100 years, students brainstormed how people have changed the environment.
