5th Grade - Our learning began with the vocabulary word Gregarious. Gregarious means sociable. The successful person was Benjamin Franklin who only had two years of formal schooling. Students quickly solved the 20 Questions/Mystery Object for the warm up activity. The focus of the leadership lesson was encouraging feedback. Each student was to write a word of encouragement to someone in the classroom. The final activity was to spend time working on the Exploravision project. There are just three weeks left to work on the project and a lot of segments still need to be completed.

2nd Grade - Today we learned that Supply means to make something available to be used: to provide someone or something with something that is needed or wanted. Clara Barton, today's successful person, was helping a soldier in the Civil War when a bullet when through the sleeve of her dress. She never mended that dress. Her courage and determination to help others led her to establish the American Red Cross. Together we solved the 20 Questions/Mystery Object for the warm up activity. Courage, one of the characteristics of successful people, was the focus of our affective lesson. Students designed their own shield that  demonstrated an act of courage they preformed. For the Discoveries lesson, students focused on the generalization that not all discoveries are equal in importance or impact. We are currently discovering crayons.
