5th Grade - Today's classes learned that a Chaparral is a thicket of shrubs and small trees. Their future thinkers invented the Hula Hoop using plastic no one wanted and saved hundreds of jobs. For the warm up activity, students had to think of as many words as they could that contained the word "air" or the sound of air. The focus of the affective lesson was speaking for others. We spent time trying to determine the source of our mystery disease, how it is being passed from person to person, what can be done to prevent it, and what to do if you do get sick with the mystery disease.
