4th Grade - (Morning) These students learned that Ponderous means something that is heavy and massive. Frederick Douglass a leader in the Abolitionist movement was today's thinker. Students worked together to solve a Quotation Quizzler for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on how students needs are being met according to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. A plan was developed to help students solve areas where they are weak. Students completed the morning by writing a persuasive speech to determine which robot each group would build then placing their votes.
(Afternoon). The afternoon group learned that Ponderous means something that is heavy and massive. They drew a design for their robots, wrote a persuasive speech, and voted on which robots to build. Due to other holiday activities, class was cancelled for the afternoon.
