2nd Grade - This class learned that Discover means to see, find, or become aware of something for the first time. Together we wrote a class Code of Conduct or set of rules to follow while attending GATE class. The Successful Person of the day was George Washington who was the first President of the United States under the Constitution, but he was not the first President of the United States. For the warm up activity, students played Stories with Holes. Our theme this year is "Open the GATE to Success." The GATE to success may require us to do some Discoveries. Students were given a pretest to determine their' current understanding of the topic. The final activity was to learn more about ourselves and our team mates. We did this by taking a version of the True Colors personality inventory. With the few minutes we had left, students read a Reader's Theatre script and completed the Tangram figures that accompanied the story.
