GATE is back in session at Washington Irving.
5th Grade: Today students learned that Admonish means a mild cautionary rebuke or warning. Together we wrote a class Code of Conduct or set of rules to follow while attending GATE class. The Successful Person of the day was Archimedes who was given the problem of having to discover if a crown contained all gold without scratching it. For the warm up activity, students played Stories with Holes. Our theme this year is "Open the GATE to Success." The GATE to success may require us to do some Explorations. Students were given a pretest to determine their' current understanding of the topic. The final activity was to learn more about ourselves and our team mates. We did this by taking a version of the True Colors personality inventory.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
