2nd Grade - Students began class today by learning that Physical change is any process involving a substance's change from one state (solid, liquid, gas) to another. The future thinker was Ulysses S. Grant, who did not want to be a soldier as a child. However, his father enrolled him at West Point and eventually led the Union army in the Civil War. For the warm up activity, students were given two pieces to a puzzle and had to fit them together. The affective lesson focused on doing acts of kindness and how it makes them feel. Our weekly trip to Crystal Pond Woods had students beginning divergent thinking. Today students practiced brainstorming different things they saw with unique shapes.
