3rd Grade - Our learning began with the vocabulary word Producer which means an organism, as a plant, that is able to produce its own food from inorganic substances. Their forward thinker was Mary Harris Jones who led a group of injured children on a 100 mile march to protest working conditions for children. Students worked together to solve a Dropquotes puzzle for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students had to color a map using only four colors which was the introduction to Visual thinking. The final activity was to complete experiments about simple machines as they prepare to build a Rube Goldberg chain reaction contraption.
