2nd Grade - Today we learned that Interruption means to cause or make a break. The thinker was Sarah Emma Edmonds who disguised herself as a man (Frank Thomas) to join the army during the Civil War. Once she was allowed to join, she volunteered as a spy and used several disguises including being a woman to get information from the South. Students began drawing a Surprise In The Middle picture for the warm up activity.
5th Grade - These students learned that Ruminate means to meditate, muse. Their thinker, Alfred Nobel, invented dynamite and started the Nobel Peace Prize. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. The final activity was to complete the building of their golf course and play a round of golf.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
