2nd Grade - Students partnered up to create a drawing for the warm up activity. One person would hold the pencil still while the partner would move the paper to create a snake. The affective lesson focused on liking ourselves. After listening to the book :I'm Gonna Like Me by Jamie Lee Curtis, students created a book about things they liked about themselves. We then traveled to Crystal Pond Woods to analyze and sort items. Then we used a logic elimination grid to put them in their proper place.
4th Grade - These students also partnered up to create a drawing for the warm up activity. One person would hold the pencil still while the partner would move the paper to create a snake. For the affective lesson, students discussed the first of the eight great gripes of gifted kids. Then they finished building their invention to help with the Covid pandemic. Once it was built they had to reflect and analyze their invention for possible ways to improve it.
5th Grade - After completing their snake drawing, fifth graders brainstormed vocabulary words that describe leaders. They then developed an acrostic for LEADER.
