2nd Grade - We took our weekly trip to Crystal Pond Woods today. Students continued developing their visual thinking skills by playing the old Dot Game with a couple of different shapes instead of squares. This not only challenged their visual thinking, but also their convergent and divergent thinking as they had to plan their moves strategically.
4th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Qualm which means a feeling of illness; a disturbing feeling. Their explorer today was the Corps of Discovery headed by Meriweather Lewis, William Clark and Sacajawea. Students successfully completed the new Strimko puzzle for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on the importance of friends. Time/timelines were the discussion of the Explorations lesson. During the Systems lesson, students built a rheostat and an electronic quiz board.
5th Grade - The vocabulary word for today was Fetch which means to go after and bring back; to get as in a price. Today's explorer, Samuel Morse (the inventor of Morse Code), was really a famous artist who struggled financially. These students quickly solved the new Strimko puzzle. Our philosophy question centered around cause and effect. Students shared the Environmental Modification they researched by presenting their products.
