2nd Grade - The learning today began with the vocabulary word Interruption which means to cause or make a break. The investigator, Frank Thompson, was really a woman Sarah Emma Edmonds who ran away from home, disguised herself as a man, and joined the army as a spy.

3rd Grade - This class learned that Species means a class of individuals having some common characteristics or qualities; distinct sort or kind. Winston Churchill was a poor student but became a gifted leader during WWII. Students worked together to solve the Quizzle or logic elimination puzzle for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods students continued to practice the creative problem-solving process. The focus of the Relationships lesson was that members of a food chain are interdependent. Students watched the original movie of the Lorax and then discussed how the lack of trees affected the environment. Our final activity was an introduction of a building project where students will have to make a raft with a sail that will stay afloat.

4th Grade - The vocabulary word for this group was Robust which means a person who feels healthy and strong. The investigator, Robert E. Lee, struggled with deciding if he should remain with the Union army or stay loyal to his friends and family in the Confederacy. Students worked together to solve a Quizzle puzzle for the warm up activity. Respect and Responsibility were the focus of the affective lesson. When students become bored they begin demonstrating a lack of respect and responsibility. To overcome those situations, students drew cartoons of ways to break boredom. The afternoon was a continuation of the transportation system as students learned about bridges while building with K'Nex.
