5th Grade - Due to OSTP (state achievement testing) this week the Wednesday morning group joined us today. We learned that Vociferous means loud and vehement. Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite was a man of peace. When he died he set up the Nobel Prize for the person who demonstrated the most to bring about world peace each year. Students listened and followed directions to complete the Surprise in the Middle drawing that was the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on the philosophical question, "If many people believe that something is true, is it true?" Our exploration lessons moved us out of the ocean to exploring our nutritional habits. Students had to create a healthy menu based on the FDA guidelines for a healthy meal.
2nd Grade - This class learned that Cultured means having or showing good education, tastes, and manner. The explorer, Abraham Lincoln was not a stern father and his sons left interesting memories for the White House staff. These students listened and followed directions to complete the Surprise in the Middle drawing that was the warm up activity.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
