1st Grade - This class learned that Benjamin Harrison was known as the "sandwich president" because he was President between Grover Cleveland's two terms as President. These students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students began learning about scientific/analytical thinking where scientists have to look closely at items to study the parts of things.

5th Grade - These student learned that Ruminate means to meditate, muse. Their warm up activity was a Stories with Holes problem that was a challenge to solve. Today's explorer was Andre Garnerin who designed the first parachute as a method of escaping from prison. Students then had an opportunity to design an escape proof prison. The affective lesson was a discussion that centered around the question, "Do two wrongs balance out and make an action right?" Our exploration lesson had students researching hunger in America. Students will look for specific information then create a product of their own choosing by which to share the information.

4th Grade - In this class, students learned that Spry means someone who is nimble or lively. The explorer was John Glenn who was a legendary astronaut. For the affective lesson, students focused on the understanding that successful people demonstrate the principle of caring. Each student then had to write two promises they would keep to their families, friends, school and environment. The final activity had student exploring their nutritional habits and designing a nutritional menu for their own restaurant.

2nd Grade - The vocabulary word for this class was Century which is a period of 100 years. Their explorer was Rose Greenhow who drowned trying to save gold for the Confederates during the Civil War. For the warm up activity, students had to solve a Stories with Holes problem which was a challenge.
