5th Grade - The Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon fifth grade groups met today. We learned that Trenchant means incisive, forceful. The explorer was George Crum who became angry at a customer for not liking the way he sliced potatoes. Mr. Crum sliced the potatoes paper thin, fried them to a crisp, then sent to them to the customer thus inventing potato chips. Students worked together to complete a logic elimination puzzle for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused around the philosophy question, "I am lying. True or False?" Students then finished products regarding hunger in America and then started researching a topic of their own choosing.

2nd Grade - These students learned that making and keeping friends may help them reduce stress.
