5th Grade - Students today learned that Quid Pro Quo is a Latin phrase meaning an equal exchange and Structure means mode of building, construction, or organization; arrangement of parts, elements, or constituents. For the warm up activity, students drew circles with their fists. The thinkers of the day were Gottlieg Daimler and Karl Benz who invented the first gasoline powered cars in two different places. The affective lesson was an introduction to leadership. Students different qualities that make up leaders. After a brief lesson in using resource materials, students learned that the Bridge Across America was an intangible structure. This led to the first project where students will make a timeline of a family on the Bridge Across America.
