2nd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Gloat which means someone who is happy about other people's failure. The explorer was Sacajawea, interpreter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. A Surprise in the Middle drawing was today's warm-up activity.
5th Grade - The vocabulary word was Zigzag which means a series of turns in different directions that nevertheless proceed in a general direction. Their explorers were the Smith Brothers who invented the cough drop. They completed the Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm-up activity. Rules or codes they have to follow was the focus of the affective lesson. Later, students worked to complete the first essays for the Exploravision project.
