2nd Grade - Today, students reviewed the skills necessary when meeting an adult. To help us remember that process, students made sandals from cardboard and string.
4th Grade - Fleet was the vocabulary word for this particular group. It means a group of cars, boats, or other type of vessels. Their explorer was Frederick Douglass. Mr. Douglass learned to read while a slave and helped in getting the thirteenth amendment added to the U.S. Constitution. They completed the Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm-up activity. The rest of the morning was spent building a creature from directions written by students at Russell Dougherty or Sunset Elementary School.
5th Grade - The vocabulary word was Zigzag which means a series of turns in different directions that nevertheless proceed in a general direction. Their explorers were the Smith Brothers who invented the cough drop. They completed the Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm-up activity. Rules or codes they have to follow was the focus of the affective lesson. Later, students worked to complete the first essays for the Exploravision project.
