3rd Grade - Today we learned the word Shard means a sharp piece of something (such as glass or pottery). Thomas Edison, today's explorer, never went to high school but learned a lot by reading.Students solved the Stories with Holes problem for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on giving and receiving gifts. Students practiced looking for visual clues in Crystal Pond Woods as they solved Plexer puzzles. Time was then spent researching and discovering inventions.
5th Grade - These students learned that Inception means the start or beginning. Richard (Dick) Knerr and Arthur (Spuds) Melvin, inventors of the hula hoop, were today's explorers. The Stories with Holes problem was quickly solved for the warm up activity. Codes of Behavior that can be found everywhere whether written or unwritten was the focus of the affective lesson. The afternoon was spent developing methods to display our Exploravision projects.
