3rd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Carnivore which means an animal that eats flesh. The investigator, Bill Gates, dropped out of Harvard to build his Microsoft company. Students did some brainstorming for the warm up activity. The trip to Crystal Pond Woods had students practicing looking for visual clues as they completed several Plexer puzzles. The focus of the Relationship lesson was how members of a food chain are interdependent.

5th Grade - This group learned that Schlep is slang for a stupid or clumsy person. The Raytheon Company was building magnetron tubes for World War II when Percy Spencer accidentally invented the microwave oven. The warm up activity was to list ideas they brainstormed for three different topics. After a brief discussion about becoming more empathetic or understanding, students finished their documentaries and shared them with the class.
