2nd Grade - Students finished demonstrating what emotions they may feel every day. We then traveled to Crystal Pond Woods where Yolanda the Yarnspinner began helping us use our divergent thinking to develop creative stories.

3rd Grade - These students learned that a Consumer is an organism usually an animal, which feeds on plants or other animals. The investigator, Albert Einstein had difficulty passing the entrance exam into engineering school because he disliked rote learning. Students followed the directions to complete the Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. We continued the study of visual thinking in Crystal Pond Woods with visual/puzzle analogies. The final activity was understanding that just rules and laws may strengthen the relationships between the government and the citizens. Students developed their own game with a specific number of rules then discussed the consequences.

5th Grade - The vocabulary word for this class was Spurious which means false, counterfeit. Friction matches were developed accidently by John Walker in 1826. The first one was three feet long. Students followed the directions to draw a Surprise in the Middle picture for the warm up activity. Understanding your family was the focus of the affective lesson. There were several activities going on this afternoon. We had a few ipads to work with so some students were able to create their documentaries. Those who were finished with the documentary or those who had to wait for an available ipad were able to do some computer science activities. Other students still had documentaries to finish.
