4th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Candid which means honest and sincere. Langston Hughes, the investigator, was inspired to start the Harlem Renaissance during the Great Depression after meeting a previous investigator of ours Mary McLeod Bethune. For the warm up activity students had to brainstorm ideas for several categories. This week's affective lesson focused on the understanding that being gifted means different things to different people. Students spent the afternoon completing their Prezi presentations about a state system and then sharing them with the rest of the class.

2nd Grade - The warm up activity for this week was to have students brainstorm ideas for a particular topic. We then heard the story Do You Want To Be My Friend by Eric Carle. Tomorrow we will discuss this story.
