5th Grade - Today we learned that a Schelp is slang word for a stupid or clumsy person. The successful person was Anton Leeuwenhoek who invented the microscope but did not share his invention with others. For the warm up activity, students what the conductor signed for them to reproduce. Positive, encouraging communication was the focus of the affective lesson. Since several students have not had much computer coding and the Lego project requires students to be able to do so, each student was assigned to a code. org course to learn coding before we can proceed.
2nd Grade - These students learned that Inference means the act or process of reaching a conclusion about something from known facts or evidence. Their successful person was Sarah Emma Edmonds who entered the Union Army as Frank Thompson and became a spy for the Union during the Civil War. Students completed conductor drawings for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on the need for friends to help us alleviate stress. In Crystal Pond Woods, we began evaluative thinking. Students had to develop criteria by which to judge several solutions to a problem. For the Discoveries lesson, we learned about several paleontologists who searched for dinosaur bones.
