3rd Grade - The vocabulary word for today was Spurious which means false or counterfeit. The investigator was Henry Ford, who invented the assembly line, not the automobile. A Quotation Quizzler was the warm-up activity. For evaluative thinking in Crystal Pond Woods, students had to evaluate potato chips according to their own criteria. While eating their potato chips, they watched a video about bees who are social insects. In our relationship study, we looked at number and word patterns. Our Entomology study focused on social insects and how they communicate.

5th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Portage which means the carrying of boats and supplies overland between two waterways. Percy Spencer, the inventor of the microwave, was today's investigator. A Quotation Quizzler was today's warm-up activity. Our affective lessons have moved to the study of philosophy. The question students pondered today was: Can you think about nothing at all? Students worked on projects for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. This was followed by an experiment about the earth's tectonic plates.
