1st Grade - These students were to help Isabel the Inventor look for various shapes in a variety of settings. They followed that activity with a reader's theatre reading of Actual Size and some other endeavors surrounding that book.
2nd Grade - These students practiced visual thinking with Max the Magician by trying to fit tangrams into a variety of shapes.
5th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Paunch which is another word for belly, especially a pot belly. The investigator was Elijah McCoy, the son of run away slaves who invented the "Real McCoy." Today's warm-up activity was a logic elimination puzzle. For affective thinking, students discussed ways they might gain some understanding of someone else's problems. Our structure lesson focused on the layers of the earth. Students are looking forward to completing an experiment with that lesson. They then had the opportunity to complete some more projects for the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
