3rd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Occlude which means to obstruct/block. Their investigator was Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft. A Surprise in the Middle drawing was the warm-up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students continued evaluative thinking by evaluating three similar game boards. The relationship study had students putting triads of items together. For PhD science, students began studying spiders.

5th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Poultice. A poultice is a moist soft mass of bread, meal, or clay or other adhesive substance, usually heated, spread on cloth, and applied to warm, moisten, or stimulate an aching or inflamed part of the body. The investigator was Anton Leeuwenhoek who invented the microscope. A Surprise in the Middle drawing was the warm-up activity. "Does anything ever happen by chance?" drove the philosophy discussion. Today's structure was "Swaying Structures" or buildings in an earthquake.
