3rd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Oscitant which means inattentive. Their explorer was Albert Einstein. He was a student that teachers didn't think could learn, but he is known as one of the smartest men to have ever lived. Students completed a Plexer puzzle for the warm-up activity. Our trip to Crystal Pond Woods had students playing a game with numbers similar to Scrabble. The Discovery lesson began focusing on ice. We watched a video about glaciers. Then we demonstrated how they form and move using students as layers of snow. Since global warming/climate change were discussed in the video, students designed a way to keep coastal cities safe in case the ice caps ever melt.
Have a great Spring Break!
