2nd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Sublime which means that something is impressive and puts one in awe. The explorer was George Washington. Mr. Washington is known as the first President of the United States. According to what we read today, he was the first President under the Constitution. John Hanson was the first President under the Articles of Confederation. Students figured out the Mystery Object for the warm up activity. Today's session concluded by students watching Leo the Late Bloomer and having a brief discussion about expectations.
5th Grade - Their vocabulary word was Abound which means very numerous. The explorer was Andre Garnerin. Students demonstrated their creative thinking skills by drawing an escape proof prison. They also discovered the Mystery Object for the warm-up activity. After a short discussion centered around the phrase, "two wrongs don't make a right", students completed a brief research project on space travel. The final activity was to create a space suit.
