2nd Grade - These students learned the words Tropical Cyclone means a cyclone originating in the tropics; specifically a hurricane. John Adams, who had to live in an incomplete White House, was the explorer for the day. Students solved the Stories with Holes mystery for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on the fact that being gifted means different things to different people. Students solved more logic elimination problems as they combined deductive reasoning and analytical thinking in Crystal Pond Woods. In order to study the book Abel's Island more thoroughly, we started watching the video version. Over the next several weeks, we will complete several activities around that book.
