4th Grade (both classes): Our day started by learning the Oblivious means a person who does not know or is not aware of what's happening. Today's explorer was Jane Addams, who was the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The affective segment was an introductory lesson regarding topics of concern to fourth graders. These will be things we discuss in detail throughout the year. Students have been sequestered as jurors in the case of Marco Polo vs. the State of Venice. Mr. Polo has been charged with fraud. Another case we are working on is the power of one germ. Students have learned that several students in a midwestern town have become ill. Their assignment for the next several days is to look up what illnesses have those symptoms.
