Mrs. Rains was gone today, but Mrs. Hart was available to teach Enrichment today. Here are some things that happened.
1st Grade - Students learned that Calamity Jane (Martha Jane Canary), risked her life to save others. She was the explorer for today. A What in the World puzzle was the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, students learned about attributes. The final activity was to look for patterns in literature and around the room.
2nd Grade - The vocabulary word for today was Appearance which means the way that someone or something looks. The explorer was James Monroe, who gave so much to his country that when he retired his daughter had to support him. These students also completed the What in the World puzzle for the warm up activity. Students learned that successful people are creative. They were given some materials and told to create a creature. Once the creature was built, students had to write a story about it.
