1st Grade - Students started off today's class by learning that a young lady (we called her Miss X) saved her school during the Civil War by waving her petticoat in surrender. A logic elimination problem was presented and solved for the warm up activity. More logic problems and detective work was used in completing projects in Crystal Pond Woods with our friend Dudley the Detective.
2nd Grade - Today, students learned that Predict means to say that (something) will or might happen in the future. They discovered that Sybil Luddington rode her horse for 40 miles one night to warn the colonists in her area that the British were burning the town.Students completed a logic elimination grid puzzle for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, Yolanda the Yarnspinner encouraged students to use colorful words to write stories. We were then able to borrow the school iPads and transfer our stories onto these wonderful tools.
