3rd Grade - Students learned that Demand means the ability and need or desire to buy goods and services. James Earl Jones, a well known actor, stuttered as a child. A logic elimination puzzle was solved for the warm up activity. The affective lesson focused on historical gifts we have in the United States in particular The Star Spangled Banner. Students then completed math problems about the flag. In Crystal Pond Woods, students were given the opportunity to use divergent thinking to solve the problem of the Great Paper Tower Building contest. Each team was given three 9 x 12 sheets of construction paper and approximately 36 inches of tape from which they had to construct a structure that would hold a set of encyclopedias.

5th Grade - These students learned that Ligature means bonds used to tie or bind. They also learned that James Smith purchased the idea of cough candy for a meal and $5. A logic elimination puzzle was solved for the warm up activity. Students spent the rest of the day researching and beginning essays for the Exploravision contest.
