1st Grade - Today's ponderer was Charlie Parkhurst a long time stagecoach driver who surprised friends at his funeral when they discovered he was a woman. Students completed a Quotation Quizzler puzzle for the warm-up activity. They got to practice their inventive thinking by combining shapes with certain locations and naming items in the places. Patterns were found in the book Miss Spider's Tea Party by David Kirk.
5th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Ligature which means bonds used to tie or bind. The ponderer was the Smith Brothers who obtained the formula to their cough candy because a man couldn't pay for a meal. Students completed a Quotation Quizzler for the warm-up activity. The affective lesson focused on rules children abide by and why they follow them. The rest of the afternoon was spent working on the ExploraVision project.
