4th Grade - Aversion - which means a strong dislike toward something was today's vocabulary word. I.M. Pei a world famous architect/builder was today's ponderer. Students completed a logic puzzle for the warm-up activity. The affective lesson focused on pet peeves and tolerance. A few minutes was spent working on the Wonder of the World project before students shared their products with the class.
5th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Rapacious which means raptor-like, preying on others. The ponderer was Ada Lovelace who wrote a computer program in 1843. Students completed a logic elimination puzzle for the warm-up activity. The affective lesson had students designing caps and t-shirts that represented various aspects of their lives. The rest of the afternoon was spent completing the history of items that will make up their project for ExploraVision.
