4th Grade - Predilection which means a preference for something was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Walt Disney who produced the first full length animated film 76 years ago this coming Saturday. Happy Birthday Snow White. Students completed a Quotation Quizzler for the warm-up activity. Humor and how it fits with eight traits of gifted students was the focus of today's affective lesson. Several students shared their Wonder of the World project.
These students have been sent home with a note regarding the creature project we will be completing after Winter Break. If you can help with any of the supplies, it will be greatly appreciated.
5th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Ligature which means bonds used to tie or bind. The ponderer was the Smith Brothers who obtained the formula to their cough candy because a man couldn't pay for a meal. Students completed a Quotation Quizzler for the warm-up activity. The affective lesson focused on rules children abide by and why they follow them. The rest of the afternoon was spent working on the ExploraVision project.
