3rd Grade - Our learning today began with the vocabulary word Relationship. Relationship means a connection, association, or involvement. The daily investigator was Hans Christian Andersen. Mr. Andersen could not spell well as a child, but became one of the world's most famous story tellers. Students completed a series of drawings according to my verbal directions for the warm up activity. Time was spent developing a class Code of Conduct (rules we would follow in class this year). A pretest was taken to determine what students currently know or understand about relationships. Using the school laptops, students took a learning styles inventory, followed by filling out an interest inventory to help me get to know them and their learning styles.

5th Grade - Their vocabulary word for the day was Admonish which means a mild cautionary rebuke or warning. Students learned that Archimedes (an ancient mathematician) discovered water displacement in his bath while trying to solve a mystery for the king. The students also completed the eight small drawings for the warm up activity and developed a class Code of Conduct. The afternoon was spent taking assessments regarding Structures, Multiple Intelligence Learning Inventory and an interest inventory. These assessments will help me in planning lessons that will meet their unique learning needs.
