2nd Grade - We started by learning that Drought is a period of dry weather. Deborah Sampson or Robert Shurtleff as her regiment knew her, disguised herself as a man in order to fight in the Revolutionary War. It wasn't until she was sent to a hospital that people discovered her to be a woman. Students worked together to solve the Plexer or visual thinking puzzles for today's warm up activity.

3rd Grade - This group learned that Phobia is a fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it. They learned that Charles Dickens, the famous author, did not finish school because he had to get a job to help support his family. Plexers or visual thinking puzzles were completed by this group for the warm up activity. The affective lesson had students take another inventory to discover their personalities and how those personalities work with or don't work with other people.

4th Grade - Their vocabulary word Overt means something that is open to view not secret. Susan B. Anthony was thrown in prison for voting. However, she continued to work toward women's rights which led to the Nineteenth Amendment of the Constitution. The Plexers were completed for the warm up activity. These students also took the True Colors assessment in order to learn their personalities and how they work or do not work with other students. That exercise was followed by having students describe the "ins" and "outs" of their own personalities.
