2nd Grade - These students started the morning by drawing eight small drawings according to my verbal directions. This was an exercise in creativity and following the directions. Students then took a pretest to share what they know about change at this time. This is a way for me to see how they grow throughout the year.

3rd Grade - Today started by learning that Relationship is a connection, association, or involvement. They learned that Hans Christian Andersen couldn't spell but did become one of the world's greatest storytellers. The warm up activity was to complete eight small drawings according to my verbal directions. The objectives of this activity were to listen to instructions and develop their creativity. Students then worked together as a class to develop their class Code of Conduct. They took a pretest regarding Relationships in order to demonstrate what they know about the topic right now. This will be used as a method of demonstrating growth throughout the year. That was followed by a trip to Crystal Pond Woods where we began developing convergent thinking skills.

5th Grade - Their vocabulary word for the day was Admonish which means a mild cautionary rebuke or warning. Students learned that Archimedes (an ancient mathematician) discovered water displacement in his bath while trying to solve a mystery for the king. The students also completed the eight small drawings for the warm up activity and developed a class Code of Conduct. The afternoon was spent taking assessments regarding Structures, Multiple Intelligence Learning Inventory and an interest inventory. These assessments will help me in planning lessons that will meet their unique learning needs.
