3rd Grade - This class learned that the degree of intensity is the definition of Depth. The explorer, Clint Eastwood, was fired by Universal Studios because they said he couldn't act. We had our final lesson of the Take Five series today. Students reflected on what they learned and how it can help them in the future. In Crystal Pond Woods students were introduced to Divergent thinking and brainstorming. Our final activity was to compare the difference in Abel (from Abel's Island) from before and after being stranded on the island.

5th Grade - Today students learned that Opprobrious means shameful, infamous. The weekly explorer was John Pemberton who developed the original Coca-Cola recipe and sold it as a brain tonic. Students worked to solve a logic problem for the warm up activity. Learning things the hard way was the focus of today's affective lesson. As we get ready to begin the Exploravision project. students watched a video of a product students at Stanford University created from a problem and which is being used around the world. We also created a goals page to help us finish the contest before the deadline. For the Explorations lesson, students had just a few minutes to read about space exploration.

2nd Grade - These students compared the difference in Abel from before the hurricane to his behavior after being stranded on an island for a long time. The also had the opportunity to learn more about hurricanes from the Perfect Storm website where students could interact with the activity.
