Mrs. Hart filled in for Dr. Rains. Here is a look at what the students accomplished:
5th Grade - The vocabulary word was Tantamount which means equivalent to, virtually the same. Ruth Wakefield, who invented the chocolate chip cookie accidentally was today's explorer. Students had to solve a Stories With Holes problem for the warm up activity. For the affective lesson, students were to design a t-shirt that reflected something about themselves. Students were introduced to the Exploravision contest which fits in well with our #InvestigateCreateElevate project. Today students continued learning about Cultural Borrowing in our explorations lesson. They had the opportunity to play Mancala which is an African game.
2nd Grade - Their vocabulary word was Appearance which means the way that someone or something looks. James Monroe, our country's fifth President was today's explorer. These students also had the opportunity to solve the Stories With Holes problem for the weekly warm up activity.
Welcome to Washington Irving's Enrichment blog. This blog was designed to keep parents updated as to the activities of students participating in the program.
