5th Grade - Learning today began with the vocabulary word Rapacious which means Raptor-like, preying on others. In 1843 our explorer for the day, Ada Lovelace, created a computer program and she envisioned a machine that would compose, play music, draw pictures, and calculate numbers. Students completed a What In The World puzzle for the warm up activity. The social/emotional lesson focused on the many different hats people wear. The rest of the morning was spent deciding what project they wanted to invent or recreate for the Exploravision contest and researching its history and current technology.

4th Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Aversion which means a strong dislike toward something. Their explorer was Roberto Clemente who was a Hall of Fame baseball player and humanitarian. Students had to solve a What in the World puzzle for the warm up activity. For the affective lesson, students had to reflect on a previous project, analyze what worked and what did not work, then determine how that information could help them with future projects. They put that information to work immediately by setting up a calendar for the Exploravision project. Students then had to follow the directions of another student, who had received instructions from a third student to put together an unseen poster. This is preparation to help them as they design, build, and write the instructions for a robot that will be shared with another school in Edmond.

2nd Grade - This class took their weekly trip to Crystal Pond Woods where Isabel the Inventor taught students how to SCAMPER an old product into something new.
