4th Grade - These students learned the word Predilection means a preference for something. The explorer was George Washington also know as the "Father of Our Country." Students worked together to solve a logic elimination grid puzzle for the warm up activity. For the affective lesson, students reflected on past projects they had completed and determined how the past experiences can help them be successful in the future. Students watched a video of an invention students from Stanford University developed to help premature babies in third world countries survive premature births. For homework, students are to ask two adults questions regarding ideas that could be used to help them invent something for the contest. The final lesson centered around Space Exploration. A Surprise in the Middle drawing helped students understand the concept of listening to directions when a photo or drawing of the product was not available.

2nd Grade - Today's lesson centered around the social/emotional side of giftedness. The focus of the lesson was the understanding that successful people exhibit the trait of caring in particular respect, responsibility, and self-discipline.
