2nd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Excessive. Something that's excessive goes beyond the usual limit. Sybil Luddington, who also warned the colonists that the British were coming, was today's explorer. Our warm-up activity was a creativity/follow directions drawing called Surprise in the Middle.
5th Grade - Prevail which means to be victorious; to persuade, was their vocabulary word. Ruth Wakefield, the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie, was the explorer. They also drew the Surprise in the Middle picture for their warm-up activity. The affective lesson had students design a t-shirt that represented their personalities. Our structure lesson focused on completing the Bridge Across America timeline so we could move on to another structure.
