2nd Grade - The trip to Crystal Pond Woods had students expanding their creative/divergent thinking skills. Through the SCAMPER process, students learned they can take ordinary objects and change them into new inventions.
4th Grade - Encroach, which means to intrude gradually upon the rights of another; to trespass, was today's vocabulary word. George Washington, the Father of Our Country, was the explorer. These students completed the Stories With holes problem for their warm-up activity. The affective lesson had students focused on breaking down and identifying previous successful practices in order to be able to used them in the future. They completed a "See, Run, Do" poster that would prepare them for building their creatures as well as writing the directions.
