2nd Grade – Students finished their Surprise in the Middle pictures.
Their affective lesson focused on task commitment. Tomorrow we will discuss
motivators.
4th Grade – Aqueduct, today’s vocabulary word, means a large pipe or
conduit for carrying water from a distant location. Mary Cassatt, known as
America’s Great Impressionist, was today’s explorer. They drew the Surprise in
the Middle picture for their warm-up activity. The affective lesson had
students considering the number of activities in which they are involved
whether too many or need to change. A few students were able to design the
creature they want to construct and “sell” their picture to the class.
4th grade
students will begin building a creature from which they will develop directions
to build the creature. Those directions will be sent to another Edmond school
who will try to build the same creature from those directions. If you have any
of the following items you could provide for the students to build with, that
would be tremendously helpful:
Paper plates
cardboard tubes
Cereal boxes
Paper cups
Duct tape
5th Grade - Prevail
which means to be victorious; to persuade, was their vocabulary word. Ruth
Wakefield, the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie, was the explorer. They
also drew the Surprise in the Middle picture for their warm-up activity. The
affective lesson had students design a t-shirt that represented their
personalities. Our structure lesson focused on completing the Bridge Across
America timeline so we could move on to another structure.
