2nd Grade - Today's vocabulary word was Scrutinize which means to look very carefully; to examine. The ponderer was Andrew Jackson who was shot at several times during his life. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. Students discovered that when people choose a career based on their intelligence, they will be more satisfied with their job. In order to discover their intelligence, students took a Multiple Intelligence Inventory.
3rd Grade - Whimsical which means erratic in behavior; unpredictable; having a quaint or fanciful quality, was today's vocabulary word. The ponderer was Michael Jordan who did not make his high school varsity team as a sophomore. Students completed a Surprise in the Middle drawing for the warm up activity. In Crystal Pond Woods, Isabel the Inventor and Yolanda the Yarnspinner challenged students to take three sheets of construction paper and 36 inches of tape and put them together to build a structure that would hold the most encyclopedias of the class. The rest of the afternoon was spent finishing Polynesian island brochures.
